Quality and Lab Testing
KGEAR U.S sends research compounds to an independent laboratory for testing. We do this because in this market, the label and the contents do not always match, and the only way to know the difference is a report from a lab that has no reason to lie.
This page explains who tests our products, what the testing actually measures, and how you can read a report yourself instead of taking anyone’s word for it.
Why independent testing matters here
Research compounds are a gray market, and quality is uneven. To put a number on it: in 2024, the independent lab Janoshik Analytical reported that roughly 43 percent of the peptides it tested failed to meet the purity their labels claimed. Some lower tier products tested between 71 and 91 percent purity while the label promised 99 percent or more.
That is the problem in one statistic. A confident label is not evidence. A batch specific report from an independent lab is.
This is also why a third party matters more than an in house claim. A seller testing its own product and showing you its own numbers is asking you to trust the seller twice. A report from a separate laboratory removes that conflict.
Who tests KGEAR products
Our compounds are tested by Janoshik Analytical, an independent laboratory based in Prague, Czech Republic. Janoshik is the most widely used independent testing lab in the research compound community. It grew from a small operation into a roughly thirty person lab that processes hundreds of tests a day, and it runs the analytical methods that actually answer the two questions that matter: what is in the vial, and how pure is it.
We do not run these tests ourselves, and that is the point. The lab has no stake in the result.
What the testing measures
A useful report answers a short list of questions:
- Identity. Is the compound actually what the label says it is? This is confirmed with mass spectrometry, which reads the molecular fingerprint of the substance.
- Purity. What percentage of the sample is the intended compound, measured by High Performance Liquid Chromatography, usually written as HPLC. Purity is reported as a number, for example 98.7 percent, not as a vague pass.
- Content. For oils, the amount detected in milligrams per millilitre. For orals, the amount per tablet or capsule. For raw material, a purity percentage.
Identity plus purity plus content is the full picture. A report that gives only one of the three is incomplete.
How to read a lab report
You do not need a chemistry background to check a report. Look for these parts:
- Batch or lot number. A report is only meaningful if it is tied to a specific batch. A general report that could describe anything tells you nothing about the vial in your hand.
- Test date. Recent is better. A report from last year may not describe the inventory shipping now.
- Method. Look for HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry for identity. These are the credible methods.
- Result against specification. The result column shows the measured value for that batch. A purity stated as a real percentage is far stronger than a report that only says “passes.”
- Traceability. The strongest sign of an honest source is that the report can be tied to the exact product being sold, and that it comes from the laboratory rather than a screenshot hosted by the seller.
If a report checks those five boxes, it is doing its job.
